FFJ (Cloud) - Authentication
In order for the Figma for Jira app to work authentication is required. The app provides you with two different authentication methods:
Figma Personal Access Token
Authenticate with Figma
Figma Personal Acces Token
Figma for Jira supports Figma Personal Access Tokens to get access to files through the Figma API. Personal Access Tokens are linked to a specific Figma user account, meaning that any file that you wish to include needs to be accessible by the user account associated with the token ('can view' rights).
With this in mind we advise you to create a generic Figma account for Figma for Jira (for example figmaforjira@yourdomain.com) and to create an access token for this account. By creating a generic account the access token is not linked to your personal account.
Please keep in mind that you need to add figmaforjira@yourdomain.com to each Figma file you would like to embed
Please take the following steps to create the token:
Login to your Figma account
Head to Help & Account from the top left-menu inside Figma and click on Account Settings
Find the Personal Access Tokens section
Click generate token below and hit “Save”
Authenticate with Figma
You can authorize the Figma for Jira app to access the Figma API on your behalf. This will give Figma for Confluence read-only permissions to all the files the authorizing user has access to, meaning that any file that you wish to include needs to be accessible by this user account ('can view' rights).
Manage authentication settings
To allow Jira admins to manage the authentication settings we created the authentication page. Navigate to Jira Administration > Manage Apps > Figma for Jira > Authentication to find this page.
