Opening the app

After installation the app will become available at the following locations:

Issue Glance

1. Navigate to one of your Jira projects and open an existing Jira ticketIssue

2. On the right side of your screen, inside the Details panel, click Open Snippets for JSMJira

The apps issue glance view allows you to create & use snippets directly in your Jira Issues

Snippet manager

1. Navigate to the Apps menu in your top navigate bar

2. Click on Snippet Manager

The Snippet manager page allows you to manage all snippet Folders & snippets within your Jira instance.

   Upon clicking on Open Snippets for JSM Add Snippet the New Snippet dialog will open

Creating a Snippet

1. Select the folder you would like to add a snippet to
   Snippets can only exist within the context of a folderIf there are no folders If this is the first time you are creating a snippet please make sure to create a folder first.
   This can be done within the context of the New Snippet dialog by clicking on <create new private/shared folder> in the folder select dropdown.

2. Fill in a title for your Snippet in the title field
   We recommend giving your Snippets unique names as this makes it easier to find them when needed

3. Add your Snippet text in the text field
   You can use support Jira smart values in your snippet to dynamically add contextual information

4. Click add Add snippet

5. Your snippet is now saved added and ready to be used 🎉

To create more snippets, click the Add Snippet button in the top right side of the application.

STEP 3

Using Snippets

After creating your first Snippet, you' ll be sent to the Your snippets section, this is where you'll find all of the available Snippet Manager

1. After opening the Snippet Manager page, select the folder you would like to add a snippet to
   If this is the first time you are creating a snippet please make sure to create a folder first. This can be done within the context of the Snippet Manager page by clicking Create folder

2. Click on Add Snippet
   Upon clicking on Add Snippet the New Snippet dialog will open

3. Fill in a title for your Snippet
   We recommend giving your Snippets unique names as this makes it easier to find them when needed

4. Add your Snippet text
   You can use Jira smart values in your snippet to dynamically add contextual information

5. Click Add snippet

6. Your snippet is now added and ready to be used 🎉

Using Snippets

1. To copy text from a Snippet, simply click on the snippet itself or click on the button

2. To edit a Snippet, click on Edit snippet in the triple dot menu

3. To delete a Snippet, click on Delete snippet in the triple dot menu

4. To duplicate a Snippet, click on Duplicate snippet in the triple dot menu
   In the Duplicate snippet dialog you can select in which folder you would like to create the duplicate

Folders

To keep your snippets organised, snippets can only exist within the context of a folder. The app provides you with two folder types.

Private folders
Private folders are only accessible and available to you. The snippets within this folder can only be edited or deleted by you.

Shared folders
Shared folders allow you to share snippets with all users within your instance. The snippets within this f
