Create your first sticky note

When you edit a page in confluence, you can add a new sticky by:

  • Clicking Insert (the plus icon with a dropdown in the top navigation) and then View More (three dots), or (even quicker)

  • Typing /sticky from the document itself. You should see the app after you type the first few letters.

There won’t be a sticky at first, so hover over to edit the contents and create your first one.

You should now see the sticky editing screen!

Things you can do

  • Type into the sticky and the text will adjust in size automatically. The font size will shrink to fit text up to a certain number of characters, depending on the sticky size.

  • Change the sticky’s color through the color picker, and save it for changes to take effect.

  • Change the sticky size. We have the classic (220px), medium (400px wide), and large (700px wide)

Stickies can only fit so much text in them before the text gets too small to read. Small stickies are limited to 1400 characters, medium ones to 2500 characters, and large ones to 3400 characters.

Publish your page and the sticky should be right there at the top. Congrats!
