Step-by-step installation guide

  1. Log into your Confluence instance as an admin.

  2. Click on settings at the top right of your screen.

  3. Click Find new apps from the left-hand side of the page.

  4. Find Custom links for Confluence via search.
    The appropriate app version appears in the search results.

  5. Click Try free to begin a new trial for Custom links for Confluence

  6. Click Start free trial, Confluence will now download and install our awesome app!

After installing the app, a new “Custom link” button is placed on each Confluence page. Clicking on the button will open an inline dialog. The custom link to the page will be automatically generated and shown in the dialog.

You can either select the text and copy it, or click on the “Copy” icon on the right to copy the link to the clipboard for further use.

By default, the app will generate a short URL specific for that page. If you want a more recognisable link to share publicly or with your team, you can click on the Customize button.

This will show an input field in which you can type your own preferred link. The help text below the input field previews the full URL. After saving the custom link will be shown in the dialog and can be copied to the clipboard for further use.
