Versions
Figma for Jira supports versioning of Figma designs, allowing you to have more fine-grained control over how the design is presented in your Jira issues.
There are two distinct ways of working with versions in Figma for Jira:
Pin selected version (enabled) DEFAULT
By enabling the toggle you will be able to select a specific version of your design. Doing so will ensure that updates in Figma will not be propagated to the design you embedded. This will result in a deterministic way of attaching Figma designs to a Jira issue, meaning that the design representation will not change over time. When adding new designs to Jira issues they are automatically pinned.
An additional benefit of pinning versions is that you are now free to make changes to your Figma files, including the removal of a particular frame, without this resulting in unexpected behaviour in Jira.
Pin selected version (disabled)
Disabling this settings will ensure that all updates to the design in Figma are propagated to the design you embedded. You will always see the latest version of the design in your Jira issue.
To prevent unintentional changes to the representation of designs in Jira issues, we recommend to select a specific version rather than always using the latest file version.
Select design dropdown
In the top left corner of the full screen dialog the app provides you with a dropdown. In this dropdown you can select the design you wish to open in the full screen dialog. Keep in mind that the full screen dialog runs within the context of an issue. This means the dropdown only shows the design that are attached to that specific issue.
Interactive viewer (with zoom)
In the full screen dialog, you can view designs with an interactive viewer that allows you to drag the design and zoom to get a better view of a particular design. You can either zoom using the buttons in the top center of the dialog or by pressing Ctrl/Cmd button while using the scroll wheel/motion on your mouse.
