How to use Figma for Jira
After installing the Figma for Jira app, a new section “designs” will become available on all existing Jira issues
Keep in mind that it is not possible to add Figma files/frames upon creating a new issueOpen an existing issue
Upon opening an existing issue you will see that a new Designs section with an accompanying input box has become available
Go to Figma & open the Figma file you’d like to embed
Click on the share button at the top right off your screenClick on copy link and a share link will be copied to your clipboard
Paste theURL of your Figma file into the input box & click on Add.
Upon clicking on Add the Figma modal appearsIn case you are using the app for the first time, you will be asked to fill in your Figma Personal Access Token
After filling in & saving your token, the app will start loading your Figma file/frame
The file/frame has now been embedded to your Jira issue
Clicking on the file/frame will provide you with two additional options:
Refresh - Clicking on Refresh will ensure that the latest version of the file/frame is shown
Open in Figma - Clicking on Open in Figma will redirect you to the file/frame in Figma

Figma Personal Acces Token
In order for the Figma for Jira app to work we need a Personal Access Token. This token allows us to access the Figma API and retrieve all your Figma files/frames.
We advise you to create a generic Figma account for Figma for Jira (for example figmaforjira@yourdomain.com) and to create an access token for this account. By creating a generic account the access token is not linked to your personal account.
Please keep in mind that you need to add figmaforjira@yourdomain.com to each Figma file you would like to embed
Please take the following steps to create the token:
Login to your Figma account
Head to Help & Account from the top left-menu inside Figma and click on Account Settings
Find the Personal Access Tokens section
Click generate token below and hit “Save”
